Privacy notice

This site collects as little as it can. There are no cookies and no analytics. The only personal data we ask for is what you type into the enquiry form or send us by email. This notice explains what we do with it, in plain English.

Nerve Native is a trading name of Starz Projects Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17161734. Our registered office is 53 Cookridge Drive, Leeds, LS16 7HP, United Kingdom.

Starz Projects Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection.

For the personal data described in this notice, Starz Projects Ltd is the controller. That means we decide how and why it is used, and we are responsible for looking after it.

We only collect personal data in three ways.

The enquiry form

What
Your name, work email, company, your website if you add it, and your message. We also note the date and time you sent it.
Why
To reply to you, arrange your free AI audit and prepare for it. If you decide to work with us, we use it to take the next steps towards an agreement.
Lawful basis
Our legitimate interest in answering enquiries people send us, and taking steps you ask for before entering into a contract.
Kept for
24 months after our last contact with you, then deleted, unless you become a client.

Emails you send us

What
Your name, email address and anything you choose to include.
Why
To reply, and to arrange and prepare your audit if you ask for one.
Lawful basis
The same as the enquiry form: legitimate interests, or steps you ask for before a contract.

Server logs and spam protection

What
Your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. When you send the form, the server also keeps a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address with the times of your recent sends.
Why
To deliver the site, keep it secure, find faults, and stop the form being used to send spam.
Lawful basis
Our legitimate interest in running a secure website and a form that works.
Kept for
The spam-protection record expires after an hour and is deleted the next time anyone uses the form. Server logs are kept by Hostinger for a limited period for security and fault-finding, then deleted automatically.

When you send the form, your message goes from our web server to our inbox as an email. It is not stored in a database on the website.

We do not sell personal data, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not use your data for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising tags or tracking pixels. That is why there is no cookie banner.

  • If you switch motion off in the footer, your browser remembers that one choice under the name nn-motion in its local storage. It stays on your device and we cannot read it.
  • We may add an online booking calendar from Cal.com in future. If we do, it will not load until you click to load it. Once you do, Cal.com may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy, and we will update this notice.
  • Hosting: Hostinger hosts this website, keeps the server logs described above and runs the server that sends the enquiry form to our inbox. It acts as our processor.
  • Email: our mailbox at contact@nervenative.com is provided by Hostinger, which stores the emails we send and receive as our processor.
  • Fonts and scripts: the site's fonts and animation scripts load from jsDelivr, a public content delivery network. Like any web server, it receives your IP address so it can send your browser the files. We plan to host these files ourselves, and will remove this item when we do.
  • Booking (not yet in use): Cal.com, only after you choose to load it, as described above.

When we build AI systems for a client, those systems may handle personal data about the client's own customers, contacts and staff, for example in documents, emails or CRM records. For that data the client is the controller and we act as their processor. We put a data processing agreement in place before we touch client data.

This notice does not cover that data. If a business that uses one of our systems holds your data, that business's own privacy notice explains how it is used, and you should contact them first to use your rights.

Some of the providers above may process data outside the UK, for example on servers in the European Economic Area or the United States. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or on safeguards the law recognises, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the reasons above, then delete it. The period for each kind of data is shown in section 02. If you become a client, we keep the records we need to run the work and any records the law requires us to keep, such as accounting records, for as long as the law requires.

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your data;
  • ask us to restrict how we use your data;
  • object to our use of your data where we rely on legitimate interests;
  • ask us to transfer data you gave us to another organisation, where that applies.

To use any of these rights, email contact@nervenative.com. There is no charge. We will respond within one month, as the law requires, and we may need to confirm who you are first.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

We will update this notice when the site or the services it uses change, for example if we add a booking calendar. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
